In 1915, the first edition of the international tennis tournament was held in Gstaad. Since then, many stars have come to the Bernese Oberland, such as Stefan Edberg, Ilie Nastase, Tony Roche, Rod Laver, Boris Becker, Yannick Noah, Jim Courier and Roger Federer, who won the tournament in 2004.
